  • Patrick Downey

    President, CEO and Director


    Mr. Downey has over 40 years of international experience in the resource industry. Mr. Downey held the position of President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Elgin Mining Inc., Aura Minerals Inc. and previously Viceroy Exploration Ltd. before its acquisition by Yamana Gold Inc. in 2006. He has held numerous senior engineering positions at several large-scale global gold mining operations and has also held operating positions at several mining projects for Anglo American Corporation in South Africa. Mr. Downey was a member of the boards of Claude Resources and Dalradian Resources before their recent successful acquisitions and he is a member of the board of a number of active resource companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) degree in Engineering from Queen’s University.

  • Peter Tam

    EVP & Chief Financial Officer


    Mr. Tam is a seasoned financial executive and brings to Orezone over twenty-five years of managerial experience in senior-level finance positions with a broad focus in mining both in North America and internationally. Prior to joining the Company in March 2018, he was VP Finance at Nevsun Resources Ltd. and previous to that, he was CFO at Elgin Mining Inc. from 2012 up to date of its acquisition in September 2014. He also served as VP Finance for Aura Minerals Inc. and Treasurer for Thompson Creek Metals Company. Mr. Tam holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with honours, from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

  • Marc-Andre Pelletier

    Chief Operating Officer


    Mr.  Pelletier is a professional mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in open pit and underground gold mines. He was the Chief Operating Officer at Wesdome Gold Mines where he was instrumental in the production re-start of the Kiena mine, within five years of the original discovery of the high-grade Deep Zone. Mr. Pelletier also contributed to the increase in production at the Eagle mine to approximately 100,000 ounces per year through continuous improvement, advanced development and exploration success.  Prior to Mr. Pelletier’s tenure at Wesdome, he was Vice President of Operations at St Andrew Goldfields until its acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold in 2016, where he successfully brought three underground mines and one open pit mine into production in less than five years. Most recently, he held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Bonterra Resources, where he played a key role in executing a strategic joint venture agreement with Gold Fields in the Urban-Barry mining camp in northern Quebec.

  • Ryan Goodman

    SVP & General Counsel


    Mr. Goodman is a seasoned corporate lawyer with extensive experience working with mining companies in various stages of growth and development, and specializes in such areas as financings, M&A and corporate governance. Mr. Goodman previously was the VP Legal Affairs of Aura Minerals Inc. for seven years. Previous to Aura Minerals, Mr. Goodman practiced law with a large Canadian multinational law firm with a focus on securities and mining. Mr. Goodman holds a J.D. from the University of Manitoba.

  • Kevin MacKenzie

    SVP Corporate Development


    Mr. MacKenzie has over 18 years of capital markets and industry experience. Prior to joining Orezone, Mr. MacKenzie held the position of Managing Director, Metals & Mining Equity Analyst at Canaccord Genuity. His industry experience spans all project levels, from early-stage exploration through to operations. This included positions as Project Geologist, Development Mine Manager, and Construction Technical Advisor with Imperial Metals at the Red Chris mine.

    Mr. MacKenzie holds a degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences (Hon.) from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA, with a Finance specialization, from Queen’s University. He is a registered P.Geo. with the province of British Columbia.

  • Jean-François Ravenelle

    VP Exploration


    Mr. Ravenelle has over 20 years of experience in structural geology and exploration applied to precious and base metal deposits. Mr. Ravenelle served as Vice President Geology of New Gold from April 2023 to March 2026 where he led the discovery of the New Afton K Zone and the expansion of the Rainy River mine. Mr. Ravenelle previously served as Practice Lead for the Metals Exploration Group at BHP, Director of Geology at Yamana Gold, and Principal Consultant with SRK Consulting. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural and Economic Geology from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, as well as an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. Honours from McGill University. Mr. Ravenelle is a registered professional geologist in Ontario and Quebec.

  • Dale Tweed

    VP Engineering


    Mr. Tweed is a Professional engineer with over 30 years experience in project development. Previous roles include Study Director at Newmont’s Peñasquito mine, VP Projects for Aura Minerals, and Engineering Manager for the Gualcamayo Project. Mr. Tweed holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Project Management. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.

  • Rob Henderson

    VP Technical Services


    Mr. Henderson is a global mining industry leader with international experience in operating, building and acquiring mineral properties. He has worked in the industry for 35 years for Great Panther Mining, Amerigo Resources, Kinross Gold, DeBeers and Rand Mines and provided engineering services to international mining clients while with SNC Lavalin and Hatch. Mr. Henderson is a professional engineer with an MBA and BSc. Chem. Eng. from the University of Cape Town.

  • Gareth Withers

    VP Finance


    Mr. Withers is a finance professional with over 20 years of experience working with mining companies. Since joining the Company in April 2019, he has applied his technical, systems, and financial planning expertise in supporting the Company’s growth from exploration, development and into production. Prior to joining Orezone, Mr. Withers held the position of Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Withers holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with first-class honours, from the University of Edinburgh. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is also a Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada.

  • Amanda Mallough

    VP Investor Relations


    Ms. Mallough brings over a decade of investor relations and corporate communications experience within the mining sector. Most recently, she served as Director, Investor Relations at Andean Precious Metals, where she led the Company’s investor relations function during a period of corporate transformation, exchange uplisting, and increased institutional market visibility. Prior to joining Andean, Ms. Mallough held progressively senior investor relations and corporate communications roles at Marathon Gold, prior to its acquisition by Calibre Mining, and previously with New Gold. Throughout her career, she has supported executive leadership teams on capital markets communications, investor engagement, and strategic market positioning.
